1021 Park Avenue

1021 Park Avenue

Project location: New York, NY
Client: Private
Design/ Construction: 1999
Project Cost: $ 1 million

Designed for an extended family, this project involved the complete gut renovation and of an existing 1920's Park Avenue duplex in a building designed by Rosario Candela. Working within the restrictive constraints set by the cooperative, the design process was essentially subtractive, stripping down the existing and introducing a minimal design vocabulary that relies on the richness of material and texture to create a more contemporary space.
