Client: Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery/ DDC/ AECOM
Design/ Construction: 2016-2019
Overall Project Cost: $16.7 billion total
NPA worked as a sub-consultant to AECOM on the Build it Back Program for the NYC Housing Recovery Office and the Department of Design and Construction. NPA and its team of MEP/FP and structural engineers have provided design, construction documents and construction administration for the rehabilitation, elevation or reconstruction of storm damaged homes in the waterfronts neighborhoods of Breezy Point, Roxbury, Broad Channel, Rockaway Park and Howard Beach in Queens, NY.
Working on an Accelerated Schedule, NPA produced DOB submission drawings for five homes every week for a period of about 6 months along with Preliminary and Final Design Reports to DDC for a total of approximately 80 homes. Although a number or homeowners dropped out of the program during the course of design, many of the homes are currently under construction and NPA and its consultants are providing construction administration support to AECOM while also continuing to provide design services and post approval amendments with the Department of Buildings.
